What Does Our Wound Care Nurse Education Program Look Like?

We recognize that individuals learn differently. Our program combines visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles to create a highly engaging and interactive program. Students use the learning platform to interact with faculty and other learners, access online resources and reinforce learning through the exam preparation tools such as flashcards, quizzes, case studies.

The program is 50+ hours over three consecutive months.  Students are required to participate in a live online orientation. The program orientation will outline the detailed timeline, learning objectives, and assignments with due dates. The first six weeks are delivered as online synchronous and asynchronous classes. During the remaining six weeks students will complete 46 hours of clinical practicum.  (Sites and preceptors must be approved by the program prior to the clinical practicum).

Graduates of the program are eligible to take the Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN®) examination through the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB).
